Here at Cosmetic Surgery Guru, we’re on a mission to find out if boob job creams really work. Can over-the-counter concoctions revolutionise the beauty industry and are they a great alternative to breast enlargement surgery? We sent a handful of our breast volunteers off to trial two of the leading products on the market, so let’s find out more about their boob-boosting experience so far.

Described as a “great skin cream” with an “attractive packaging” the most expensive cream on the market has proved popular so far. Designed to stimulate fat cells underneath the skin the “light gel cream” has been found to “absorb quickly” and is believed to be a “very well-formulated moisturiser with proven emollients, skin repairing ingredients and anti-inflammatory and water-binding agents”.

The women also liked the smell complementing the “soft scent of rose, orange and grapefruit oil” and commented on the “luxurious” spa-like qualities of the product. Despite the positive feedback, however, not one of our ladies has reported a bouncier bust. At this stage in the trial this is not particularly surprising as the creams can take up to six weeks to work – so watch this space. It will be interesting to read the final reviews.

The other leading boob job cream uses a natural steroid derived from an Asian root to improve the bust and has also received positive reviews. It joins a host of other products made by the beauty company and must be used twice daily. Although one lady found it to smell too “sweet” another seemed impressed by the aromas which she compared to “orange sherbet”. The cream was also said to be “easy to rub in”, however, it was also described as “cold” “dry” and “greasy”.
The packaging was labelled “simple but effective” and the texture was compared to a gel moisturiser. Applying “enough to give a covering without leaving a residue” seemed to be sufficient, though precise instructions were apparently lacking. Just like the other cream, our ladies did not mention an increase in bust size, but we’re still in the early stages.

Taking all the feedback into consideration, it seems the most expensive boob job cream has impressed our ladies the most. The moisturising effect and the luxurious aromas caught the attention of our volunteers, but will it stay on top over the coming weeks? As our lovely ladies continue to massage their assets with these ground-breaking creams, we’re eager to see if either of them do the (boob) job.

Whatever you call them, jugs, melons, breasts, knockers, or baps, breasts are everywhere – and many women would admit to wanting a juicier pair. While boob jobs are popular, breast-boosting creams are also flying off the shelves, but do these revolutionary products really work? We’re on a mission to find out.

Seven of our breast volunteers have agreed to try out two of the most popular creams on the market to see if their bosoms bloom. Five women will try out a bust serum which claims to naturally reshape the cleavage and two will test a cream which claims to improve the bust dramatically. Both products have been hitting the headlines of late, so let’s take a closer look at how they work.

The serum treatment is thought to be a great alternative to breast enlargement procedures and has proved popular to date. In fact, when it first went on sale 1,000 tubes were sold every minute, so what makes it so spectacular? Well, it contains a host of plant-based ingredients which are believed to support the natural process of lipid deposition. The carefully concocted formula reportedly stimulates the natural fat cells underneath the skin and helps to tighten up the décolleté.

The other cream, (one of the most expensive on the market) is also a non-evasive alternative to cosmetic surgery and is designed to plump up the chest naturally. The cream uses a natural steroid derived from an Asian root to improve the bust and décolleté area. It works on the skin to enhance the chest and contains micro-fibres and a wheat protein which moisturise the area. It joins a host of other beauty products by made by the company and must be used twice daily. One cream claims to work after five weeks and whilst the other is thought to make a difference after six, so we’ve asked our volunteers to report their findings. We will write a blog before they start applying the creams and then halfway through the experiment reporting any changes. Each volunteer will then write a review detailing if the products worked – or not! The results are sure to be both interesting and amusing, so be sure to follow our posts.

Both products sound magical on the label, but do they really work? We’ll soon find out!

Have you used any products which claim to be an alternative to surgery? And did they work?

There have been plenty of news stories in the last few weeks about PIP breast implants and apparent health scares, which have caused a number of people to ask – what exactly are the facts about all of this? Well, we’ve put together a bit of a guide as to what has been said so far.

How did the scare start?

In June last year, it was reported that women who had received breast enlargements were being advised to contact their surgeon regarding the type of implant they received. The reason was that Poly Implant Prostheses (PIPs) had been found by a French inquiry to be filled with a gel that was unapproved and had inadequate protective barriers.

While it was feared that around 50,000 women in the UK may have had these implants, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) warned against panic, adding that those with this type of implant should seek a check-up within the next six months. President Nigel Mercer said: “If it’s PIP they should have an ultrasound in the next six months to establish whether there is any weakening or rupture. At present removal is recommended in these cases, but if there is one ruptured implant, the contralateral one should be taken out as well, as a preventative measure.”

What’s the worst that can happen?

In early January, the UK Health secretary Andrew Lansley said no evidence had yet been found to suggest PIPs have – as French authorities originally reported – a five per cent higher chance of rupture than other implant types. He added it was “not advisable for women to routinely have implants removed, because the risk associated with an operation of that kind would outweigh the benefit of removing [them].”

The fear surrounding the implants is that the silicone gel used to fill them is not medical grade and could be irritative. This in turn could lead to an increased risk inflammation reaction and subsequently make removal more difficult. There has been one case of a rare form of cancer called anaplastic large cell lymphoma reported in France, but while some experts have suggested there may be a small but increased risk of this cancer in women with breast implants, this has nothing to do with PIPs.

What’s happening now?

While French authorities insist PIPs have a higher rupture rate and are offering to remove all implants from women who’ve had them, UK figures show rupture rates are lower and the government has said that as such there is no need for routine implant removal. As it stands, a review is being conducted, but so far the overwhelming message seems to be that there is little to worry about – particularly when it comes to things like increased cancer risk.

I’m still worried… what should I do?

If you don’t know what type of implants you’ve had or are worried about some of the reports that you’ve read, the best thing to do is speak to the surgeon who gave you your breast augmentation in the first place. It’s not unusual to be concerned about this type of thing – especially when it’s so prevalent in the news – but by talking to an expert you should get the reassurance you need.

Cosmetic surgery is extremely popular in the UK and a number of clinics carry out life-changing operations. Surgical procedures such as cheek implants are particularly common and boob jobs are popular with celebs.

Despite the quality of healthcare available in the UK, however, many Brits still pack their bags and head off for plastic surgery overseas. So let’s find out why some people leave their friends and family behind and head off to another county.

People love to travel

One of the main reasons people fly off to different countries for surgery is that they love to travel. The thought of spending a few weeks away somewhere totally foreign is exciting and people will do anything to explore the world. Of course it’s nice to have a holiday, but many people forget that they will need time to recover after the operation and won’t have much time to sightsee.

Vanity

Some people decide to have surgery abroad to get away from people they might know. They don’t want to be seen wearing bandages and prefer to recover in private. What’s more, a surprising amount of people don’t like to admit they’ve had plastic surgery and would therefore prefer to have the operation away from home – in case they are caught out.

Money

Every year, people fly to places such as Thailand, Poland and Hungary to have cheap plastic surgery. Many countries offer a range of non-surgical and surgical procedures at low prices and these reduced costs appeal to some people. While the thought of saving a few bob might be enticing, many people forget to add on their travel costs and end up paying a fortune to get to their destination.

Popular clinics

Cosmetic surgery is a big deal and some people will only have work done at renowned clinics. Many image-conscious folk will jet-set to LA or Hollywood and will only use surgeons that have operated on celebs. There are certainly a number of highly-rated clinics around the globe, however, some of the best are actually in the UK. So if you’re looking for clinics that carry out breast enlargement operations or tummy tucks, you might want to look closer to home.

If you’re considering plastic surgery it’s very wise to weigh up all your options carefully. Do you want to jet off to somewhere unfamiliar or would you prefer to recover in your own bed?

According to a recent article for The Huffington Post, women only have breast enlargement surgery to “increase their hotness among straight guys”. Melissa Carter claims “guys dig a good rack” and thinks straight women will do all they can to impress them.

Quite frankly, it’s absurd to think every female who goes under the knife is desperate to please a disgruntled man. Many strong, independent women opt for cosmetic surgery to fix their insecurities and are poked, prodded and tweaked to improve self-confidence. They use their own minds to make their own decisions and check in for procedures on their own terms.

There’s something fundamentally wrong with the belief that we’re out to satisfy someone else. All the magazines tell us, he won’t notice that bit of cellulite or those few extra pounds, but what if we notice them and want to fix them? Is it so hard to believe that women choose plastic surgery for their own enjoyment?

Many women dislike their bodies after pregnancy and choose plastic surgery to enhance their looks – not to satisfy a man, but to improve their appearance. What harm is a nip here and a tuck there if it makes someone feel more confident? Plastic surgery isn’t just about getting a good pair for the boys; it’s about liking the person you are.

In her article Boob Jobs: Could Lesbians Teach the Rest of Us, Carter also states that “the vast majority” of women concoct elaborate tales to disguise their true motivation for surgery stating “never once have I heard a woman come right out and admit to going under the knife for a man”. It’s just a thought, but perhaps women don’t admit to this because it’s not true. Maybe what these women want is a body they feel comfortable looking at in the mirror?

Carter also seems to suggest men are the big, bad ogres who run a mile if their girlfriends don’t look perfect, but this seems unfair. Many guys are happy with smaller-breasted girls and actually prefer an A cup to a pair of DDs, so can they really be the reason behind every boob job operation? What’s more, guys can complement their wives until the cows come home, but they can’t change the image women see when they look at their reflection.

The article says “a man can never fully fathom the changes that a woman’s body experiences over a lifetime,” however, this comment is perhaps a little flawed. Men might not have two melons on their chest but that doesn’t mean they can’t empathise with their partner. Similarly it seems wrong to say “two women are always going to relate to the ways each other’s bodies chance over time” because everyone is different. It’s not set in stone that you’ll relate to your partner’s body just because you’re of the same sex. What if one of you has a mastectomy?

Women have boob jobs for many different reasons, so it’s very short-sighted to think they only go under the knife to attract a man.

Is your face riddled with laughter lines, crow’s feet and wrinkles? Perhaps you are feeling old before your time? Well fear not as there are so many things you can do to achieve a youthful appearance.

From skin tightening to popular microdermabrasion procedures, there’s a wealth of tips and techniques which will stop you looking like an OAP.

So, here are some ways to keep looking young:

Facial peels

If your skin is looking dead, dull and lifeless, it might be a good idea to check yourself in for a facial peel. A deep form of exfoliation, this non-surgical procedure helps remove dead skin and works to improve tone and texture. There are a variety of peel procedures; however, all should leave you with a clear, bright complexion.

Laser hair removal

If you have a bit of an unwanted moustache going on, why not treat yourself to laser hair removal? Unwanted hair can be extremely embarrassing, however, lasers will destroy the base of the follicle and rid you of your problem forever. Although the procedure can be slightly uncomfortable it is not unbearable and is much better than having ugly-looking hair on your chin.

Botox ®

Many people are choosing to have Botox these days and are getting rid of unsightly lines. A fantastic non-surgical wrinkle treatment you can now look younger for longer and be proud when you look in the mirror. A protein called Botulinum Toxin is injected into the skin using a fine needle and this helps the muscles relax. The treatment can last between 3 and 4 months and is raved about by many celebrities.

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers work to soften wrinkles, lines and fill out hollows to create a super smooth look. As your skin ages it loses the collagen that helped support it, which means your face can age rapidly. If you have significant nose to mouth lines or droopy old cheeks, then this treatment can do wonders for your overall appearance.

Omnilux light therapy

When you are young you really don’t have to work that hard at keeping your skin looking healthy. Of course there are the acne years, but with age your skin can look really dull. Omnilux light therapy is a relaxing skin rejuvenation treatment that stimulates deep skin tissue. Designed to soften fine lines, improve skin tone and achieve a softer complexion this is great for anyone whose skin requires a bit of TLC.

So if you don’t like the way you look, why not treat yourself to one of the above procedures? We would also love to you to share your tips on what cosmetics you use to keep yourself looking younger.

Believe it or not, you can now buy special creams that are designed to plump, smooth and firm the bust. There is a new cream on the market which uses a natural steroid to enhance the chest and another which claims to help boost the fat stores underneath the skin.

Breast enlargement techniques have come on leaps and bounds in recent years, so let’s take a look at the history of boob jobs.

Nineteenth century

Contrary to popular belief, women have had their assets poked, prodded and played with for many years. Experimental surgeons in the late nineteenth century used breast implant devices to enhance a woman’s bust, but unfortunately cosmetic surgery was not as advanced back then.

Many flat-chested females suffered terrible deformities at the hands of maniac medics following breast augmentation procedures. Women had items such as ivory, glass balls, ground rubber, ox cartilage and polythene chips inserted into their chest and the results were often obscene. In 1889 Austrian physician Robert Gersuny tested paraffin injections with disastrous results, however, experiments continued to take place.

Twentieth century

In the 1920s many physicians attempted to transfer fat from the thighs or stomach into the breasts, but this proved unsuccessful. The fat was soon broken down and absorbed back into the body resulting in a lot of disappointed subjects. During World War II many American women opted for the silicone injections favoured by Japanese prostitutes but these often lead to mastectomy.

Things began to improve in the early 1960s as two Texan plastic surgeons developed the first silicone implant. Thomas Cronin, Frank Gerow and the Dow Corning Corporation revolutionised plastic surgery and in 1962 Timmie Jean Lindsey became the first woman to receive silicone breast implants. They were introduced to the public in 1963 and soon became a popular phenomenon. Unfortunately they were soon found to be weak and many doctors deemed them unsafe.

The first saline breast implant was first developed in France by the French company Laboratoires Arion. Filled with saline solution it offered women more choice when it came to breast augmentation and is still around today.

Twenty first century

Silicone implants have been greatly improved and are now mostly made from a semi-solid gel that eliminates the risk of leakage. Surgical techniques have also changed dramatically and incisions can now be made under the breast, in the armpit, or even the navel. Boob jobs are incredibly popular these days as the scarring is minimal and procedures can be reversed.

The 21st century has also seen the development of creams that help lift, tighten and boost the chest. People no longer have to go under the knife and can achieve a fuller chest in just a few weeks.

Products such as Rodial boob job cream use a natural steroid derived from an Asian root to improve the bust and décolleté area, whereas NIP + FAB’s Bust Fix contains plant-based ingredients which help stimulate the fat cells in the bust. It’s used as an alternative to padded bras and cosmetic surgery and has been flying off the shelves at a rapid rate.

Surgical procedures have improved dramatically over the years and now women everywhere can flaunt a fuller chest – safely. Cosmetic creams have also become extremely popular and threaten to revolutionise breast augmentation, so the question remains – what next?

Paparazzi mogul Daryn Lyons has shocked the public yet again this time by displaying his fake abs while sunbathing in the celebrity Big Brother house. The 46 year old Aussie has revealed that was so pleased with the results of his £13,000 operation from a polish cosmetic surgery group that he decided to buy the whole company and relocate them to London.

The entrepreneur has claimed that ‘contour surgery’ like his could become the new boob job for men. We here at cosmetic surgery guru strongly disagree with Darryn as he is a prime example of someone going under the knife for all the wrong reasons. You simply can’t make drastic changes to one are of the body in stark contrast with the rest, without looking completely and utterly ridiculous. His goal of achieving finely chiseled abs without stepping foot in a gym has completely backfired and his new look is more Matt Lucas from Little Britain USA than Gerard Butler in 300.

Was this procedure a complete waste of time or could it be the start of a new trend in contour surgery amongst men? Let us know what you think.

Cosmetic Surgery Guru has put together the very breast of British on a stunning new infographic which details the way the nation feels about its boobs – and, more importantly, just how big they are.

The leading cosmetic surgery blog has put together a whole host of interesting facts about the UK’s chests, from average bra size to the pet names we give our boobs, displaying them in a handy infographic format.
A cosmetic surgery company’s Bums, Boob Jobs and Botox campaign kicked off last month with their Channel 4 documentary, and we’re taking it one step further with everything you ever needed to know about the nation’s boobs – but were too scared to ask.

First and foremost, it reveals the average bra-size of the UK, both nationally and locally. Overall, it’s a shapely 34D. But it varies depending on where you go throughout the nation. Unlike their football team, Liverpool’s women are top of the table… when it comes to bra size, that is, clocking in at 34DD.

Women from Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds and Swansea aren’t too far behind them, with Brighton, Bristol, Coventry, Belfast and Sheffield completing the top 10. Ladies in Aberdeen, Plymouth and Southampton were found at the bottom of the table, with their average boob size ranging from 34B to 32A. Interestingly, men and women agree that a C-cup is the ideal size.

But what does all this mean in real terms? The infographic takes all the information, digests it and makes it really easy to understand.

For example, did you know that the average natural B-cup pair weigh the same as 33 and a half blue tits – or 43 and a half if the boobs have been cosmetically enhanced with breast implants? Or that C-cup women are carrying out 8/9ths of a hooter (that’s an owl to me and you, thanks to the guys at owlpages.com)? If you’ve got a D-cup, you’re carrying around 2/7ths of a coconut if they’re natural or 3/7ths if you’ve had the cosmetic surgery procedure known as a boob job. And if you’ve ever referred to your boobs as your melons and you’ve got a pair of DDs, you’re not far wrong – they’ll weigh around 7/9ths of a watermelon with implants, 6/9ths au natural.

So how does the nation feel about these boobs? Well, some 63 per cent of Britons admit they’d like bigger boobs, while three in four believe they can tell the difference between natural boobs or those that have had implants. And we’ve got a whole array of pet names for our breasts, from the old favourites (funbags, knockers, baps) to the little more leftfield (milk bombs, dairy pillows, baby feeders).

It’s not uncommon to hear of people having cosmetic surgery in order to copy the styles and looks of the rich and famous. Many patients will have gone into clinics looking to copy Pippa Middleton’s bottom with bum implants or gone for a boob job after being inspired by Katie Price.

However, according to a report in a Daily Express, one patient has taken copying a celebrity’s looks a little too far – and asked for surgery to exactly like her idol, Jessica Alba. The young Chinese woman was apparently planning to try and win back her boyfriend with the stunt.

Speaking after hearing about the request, Alba said she thought it was “bizarre” that someone would want to become her doppleganger.
“That’s just so bizarre. The physical is so fleeting anyway. When you’re in a relationship, the physical lasts for, maximum, two years. And then you don’t care how attractive you are to that person – if they drive you nuts, they drive you nuts,” she commented.

After hearing of Alba’s concerns, the young woman decided to call off the plan to have extensive surgery. Which in some ways is a shame – it certainly would have been interesting to see how far surgeons would have gone to service her request – and how successful it would have been.
