Our mission to find out if boob job creams can really make a difference has gathered serious pace and, after a great start, we now find ourselves at the halfway mark. So, how have our breast volunteers faring with our trial two of the leading products on the market? Let’s find out.

One of the products we were testing is currently the most expensive out there and we discussed last time how it was proving very popular with our panel. Since then, the moisturising benefits of the cream have been praised with one of our women reporting a décolletage that is much “softer and more supple.”

Respondents have said they have mixed feelings about having to apply the cream on a regular basis, with some saying it has become part of their daily routine and others finding it difficult to remember to apply twice daily as is recommended. “On three occasions I’ve left off at night when I’ve gotten home late and just want to get to sleep,” one of the panel members explained.

However, while this product has received a great deal of praise for its moisturising properties and pleasant scent, there have been no reports of any increase in size after three weeks of use. Of course, the company that makes the cream says results can take up to six weeks, but there is a sense that one or two of our girls are disappointed. “I started by enjoying the experience and the luxury of the cream, [but] I’m getting bored with the extra step – especially as there’s no discernible difference,” one of our trial team has said.

We’ve also been testing out the best-selling boob cream on the market, again with mixed results. Once more, there was praise for how the product has softened and moisturised the chest of those who have used it, but equally some have found it tricky to remember to include as part of their daily routine.

That said this particular cream has had the most positive results in terms of results. While a couple of the women said they had seen no difference at all, others were more impressed. “I do think my breasts feel fuller and tighter,” one said. “For example, in the past when I had on a bra and put my hand in the middle of my chest when the bra sections meet it was totally flat – now it feels fuller. My breasts also look a bit rounder and more appealing in my bra.”

So of course, we are now only half way through our six-week trial, but are seeing the first signs of improvement for some – while others have almost given up on the creams. The next few weeks will give us the biggest indicator of whether or not these often expensive products are worth your attention, so be sure and check back soon!

Just when you thought it was safe to switch the TV back on, the star-studded daddy of all reality TV shows returns… and this time round, Celebrity Big Brother seems to be something of a celebration of cosmetic surgery.

It’s just two years since Channel 4 announced it would be closing the doors to the Big Brother house for a final time after a decade of success, but it was only a matter of time before it crept back on to our screens. This week saw the relaunch of the show in its celebrity form, in a new home on Five, but the online excitement seemed just as rampant as ever.

So who are the all-important contestants? Well, there are definitely some beautiful bodies on display for the show’s triumphant return – a healthy portion of which have been crafted by the surgeon’s knife on their journey to stardom. Here are some of Celebrity Big Brother’s brand new cosmetic surgery-enhanced housemates for 2011.

Amy Childs

Strangely, some might argue that Amy is one of the most famous faces in the Celebrity Big Brother 2011 house, but this buxom belle is no stranger to attention. The former Only Way Is Essex star told Now magazine earlier this year that not only was she delighted with her cosmetic D-cup curves, but that she planned to have more surgery in the future. “I’ll probably have another boob job after I have kids,” she explained.

Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff

She may have rose to prominence by flashing her hot bod on Baywatch, but the former wife of David Hasselhoff has been in and out of the news since her high profile divorce from Mr Knight Rider himself. After accusing him in the press of having once broke her nose, The Hoff apparently responded by saying: “The only person who broke my wife’s nose is her plastic surgeon.”

Tara Reid

New Jersey starlet Tara Reid smouldered her way on to the movie scene after appearing in comedy gems like The Big Lebowski and American Pie. Since then, her curves have been all over magazines and newspapers and she will soon be returning to the American Pie franchise for the eagerly awaited American Reunion.

Kerry Katona

She may have started out as one third of girl band Atomic Kitten, but we’ve seen Kerry Katona grow into a fully-fledged tigress in the media in the last decade. As the face of the Iceland advertisements, she warmed her way back into our hearts and even emerged from the I’m A Celebrity… jungle as the people’s queen in 2004.

So who wins? You decide… fingers crossed it will be one of these surgically-enhanced lovelies!

Everyone wants to look their best on their wedding day, right? But it seems some would go further than others to achieve bridal beauty. While an expensive dress, special haircut and painstakingly applied make-up are common features of your average nuptials, according to a report on This is Lancashire, many northern women are turning to cosmetic surgery for their big day.

Local surgeons said that it is especially older females who are opting to go under the knife before they walk up the aisle, with facelifts and ear surgery among the most popular procedures among women in their 30s and 40s.

In many ways, it’s an understandable trend – cosmetic surgery is becoming increasingly acceptable among British women, with stats and figures from industry bodies such as BAAPS pointing to huge rises in the take-up of procedures like boob jobs and rhinoplasty.

it seems the older many people get these days, the more eager they are to wind back the clock a little, either with non-invasive treatments like Botox or surgical procedures like a facelift.

Ultimately, everyone wants to look back on their wedding photos proudly, rather than wincing at their wrinkles or jug-like ears – and for growing numbers of women, this horror situation is avoidable through having cosmetic surgery.

During her time on EastEnders as Phil Mitchell’s ex Lisa Fowler, Lucy Benjamin was known for not mincing her words. And it appears to be a trait she’s carried over into her real life, judging by comments in a recent interview with Hello! magazine.

Specifically, she’s been speaking about her plans for having cosmetic surgery after admitting that parts of her body ‘headed south’ after she had children.

“Going under the knife scares me, but after breastfeeding two children I’m seriously thinking about having a breast lift for my next birthday,” she said.

Now in her 40s, Lucy has also been increasingly worried about her fine lines and wrinkles on her face, so she’s booked in for a dose of the modern one-stop wondercure.

“I’m booking in some Botox for around my eyes and forehead,” she revealed.

Her comments are sure to resonate with women up and down the nation, especially those looking to get back what nature has taken away from them over the years.

The fact she’s openly talking about having these types of procedures and treatments only goes to prove how normal they’re becoming in society these days – there’s no shame in admitting you’ve had a little help to wind back the clock and look your best, whether you’re a soap star or a girl next door.

Choosing to have a breast enlargement operation is not a decision to take lightly, but if you’re going ahead, there are numerous things you’ll want to think about before and after the procedure.

It’s perhaps unsurprising that this type of procedure is now the most popular cosmetic surgery treatment in the UK, as it deals with an area of the body intrinsically linked to confidence and self-image. For many females, the size of their breasts can dictate how they feel about their body, especially if they’re smaller than they’d like them to be. Mother Nature seemingly hands out boobs almost entirely at random, but not everyone is happy with what they’re given. As psychologists have discussed over the years, having low body confidence can have knock on effects in other areas of people’s lives. Whether it hits a person’s confidence at work or stops them getting out there on the dating scene, the problems can span many years and have lasting effects.

For this reason, increasing numbers of Britons are looking into the options afforded by cosmetic surgery. As we mentioned previously, the decision to go under the knife and have breast augmentation is not something that can be made on the spur of the moment – it requires plenty of deep thought, research and taking on the opinions of experts. A reputable surgery will ensure that their patient has gone through this process at a consultation, where the options for breast enlargement can be outlined, along with offering a forum for discussion on how the patient feels. For many women, the stereotypical image of wanting to go under the knife to achieve huge, Jordan-esque boobs is wide of the mark. It could just be the case that a patient wants to go up a cup size or two, or give their breasts definition. Others may wish to get back what they’ve lost over time, whether due to weight loss or pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Although the exact details can vary, procedures generally see an incision made somewhere around the chest area, where implants are inserted. The incisions are usually made in one of four places – around the nipple, under the breast, around the naval or in the underarm area. The area of the body that’s opted for can have an effect on the visibility of the scar, although this is something you can discuss with your surgeon during the consultation. Reputable surgeries will always make sure there’s a comprehensive after care programme in place, allowing you to discuss any problems or concerns in the weeks and months after the treatment.

Whatever your reason for having a boob job, there’s no harm in getting a little more information to inform your choice. Why not arrange a consultation with a surgeon to discuss your options for getting the boobs you’ve always dreamed of?

Traditionally, contestants with surgically-enhanced bodies have been barred from beauty contests. However, it’s perhaps a sign of how the world’s view of having a little nip and tuck is changing that at one competition it’s wholly encouraged.

In fact, the Miss Plastic 2010 event turns the tables entirely – you cannot enter unless you’ve been under the surgeon’s knife.

Contestants are required to bring their medical notes along with them to the event in Budapest, Hungary to prove their eligibility – and put their surgeons in line for their own little bit of recognition.

The judges at the bash rate not only the attractiveness of the contestants, but also the skill of the surgeons who have helped them look their best. Once the panel have decided on the winner, the beauty then goes on to face international contestants in the Miss Plastic Universe competition.

Miss Plastic 2010 has proved to be popular with a range of happy plastic surgery customers, from women who’ve freshened their face with Botox to those who have been given a confidence boost by having breast implants or augmentation.

Speaking about why she entered, 27-year-old contestant Timea Kertesz said that she was keen to show off her boob and buttock implants.

“It started when I was 17 and I persuaded my mum to agree to an operation to pin back my sticking out ears,” she explained. “I suddenly discovered I was much more confident and from that moment on I have never stopped improving what nature gave me.”

Of course, you don’t need to enter a plastic surgery competition to receive a little confidence booster from a cosmetic procedure.

Some people decide that a tummy tuck will make all the difference to their lives, a procedure which removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen. For those whose main bugbear has always been their nose, a rhinoplasty operation can give them the little lift they’ve always craved. Boob and buttock implants are also popular among those looking to get a hot celebrity look.

Whatever you decide to go for, a study by Mintel earlier this year found that attitudes to cosmetic surgery are changing in the UK – the with the market estimated to have grown by 17 per cent to £2.3 billion between 2008 and 2010.

All women want to look at their best on their wedding day – and for many of us, splashing the cash on a beautiful dress is only half the battle.

Whether we’re putting ourselves on strict diets or taking part in gruelling fitness routines in the run up to the big day, there’s a whole host of ways to make sure your wedding photos are something to cherish rather than cringe at.

However, for some women, many of the common tactics don’t go far enough – and a little plastic surgery is just what the doctor ordered ahead of their nuptials. This hunger to look great at the altar is the central theme of a new reality show which is taking the US by storm. Bridalplasty, which is showing on the E! network, follows the story of 12 engaged women who are looking forward to their big the day. The dazzling dozen compete not only for the show to pick up the bill for their dream wedding, but to also pay for their plastic surgery wish-list to become a reality. On each episode of the series, a contestant wins the chance to pick one procedure from their wishlist, with the final woman standing having a number of operations from her list ahead of her dream day.

The show could provide British brides to be with all the inspiration they need to have their own nip and tuck before their big day. As there’s a range of procedures on offer, this can be a very personal choice, based on an individual’s problem areas. For example, those wanting to look youthful and refreshed for their big day have a number of treatments at their disposal. A facial peel is a quick and simple way to give skin a smooth and glowing complexion, while Botox can help to rid the face of frown lines and wrinkles. It can also be used to help those with problems with excessive sweating, meaning their wedding dress is not ruined by unsightly perspiration stains.

Perhaps breast enhancement would give you the confidence boost you crave – and the chance to walk down the aisle in that busty dress you’ve had your eye on. Or maybe you just want to make sure your smile is as dazzling white as your fancy frock – in which case, teeth whitening could be for you.

Whatever you decide to go for, there’s no reason why you can’t get a little help to look at your best on the most important day of your life.

Until recently, admitting to having cosmetic surgery was a definite no-no for most celebrities. But nowadays many famous faces are happy to admit they’ve gone under the knife and proudly show off their surgeon’s work for the world to see.

Daytime TV favourite Holly Willoughby is one of the latest stars to bring up the subject, telling viewers of This Morning that she’d consider having plastic surgery in the future.

“I haven’t had any [surgery] yet, but I know I probably will do,” she revealed.

“I know I will at some point in my life probably have a little something done. I know that that will happen but I know I’m not going to go to the extreme as well, and I definitely know it’s not because I’m insecure in some way,” she continued.
The buxom telly host, who is known for appearing onscreen in some pretty daring dresses, brought up the topic while talking to 80s singer Pete Burns – who is hardly a stranger to cosmetic surgery himself.

Burns, known for having numerous lip enhancements, showed off his latest surgery during the appearance – a set of facial piercings in his eyebrows, cheekbones and forehead .

Of course, not everyone goes to the extremes that the Dead Or Alive singer has become famous for. Last year, Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh told new! magazine she would consider having more surgery after being pleased with the results of her breast enhancement.

“I’m not going to say never because if I ever do, it’ll come and bite me on the bum,” she commented. “I can’t think of anything else I’d want done at the moment, but when everything starts to go south I might change my mind.”

Celebrities’ openness about surgery may also be rubbing off on their legions of fans. In the UK, the cosmetic surgery market has grown by 17 per cent over the past couple of years, according to research by Mintel. Young adults in particular are attracted by the prospect of a little nip and tuck – six in ten said they would like to go under the knife.

The truth is, there’s just no stigma around having surgery these days – whether you’re a red carpet regular or not.

Given that their fame is mostly linked to their skill and prowess out on the field, sports stars aren’t usually known for going under the surgeon’s knife for anything other than injuries.

However, when they retire, their attitude to their appearance often changes – and some are a little more meticulous than others.
After spending years committed to strict exercise and diet routines, many can let things slip a little with their weight – just watch one of the football Masters tournaments over the summer for proof.

For others, the signs of ageing can be hard to take after spending years looking and feeling their best – and this could have been the thought likely to have run through Boris Becker’s mind when he recently underwent a facelift operation.
The former Wimbledon champion revealed he underwent the procedure while appearing on breakfast show Daybreak recently. Speaking to the show’s sports reporter Dan Lobb at London’s O2 Arena, the Swedish star was asked how he maintained his youthful looks by the reporter.

Becker replied: “It’s a dark arena here so you don’t see my wrinkles. I also had a facelift recently and I coloured my hair. I turned 43 this week, and winning Wimbledon was 25 years ago, and I do feel very much like I’m 43 right now.”

As Becker appeared happy to discuss his treatment, it’s clear he feels little shame about going under the knife to look his best. And why should he? With advertising and endorsements contributing bigger and bigger sums to sports stars’ earnings, it’s unlikely that he’ll be the last sporting hero to go under the knife. With television presenting and punditry popular avenues to explore after retiring from professional sport, the stars of yesteryear enter a completely different arena as they grow older, where looking good is a central part of their appeal. While there’s no suggestion that retired soccer stars and pundits Jamie Redknapp or Gary Lineker have undergone treatment, it’s unarguable that their good looks are as much a part of their appeal as their sporting knowledge.

Whatever Boris’ reasons for having a facelift, it’s important to note that you don’t need a sport star’s bank balance to afford to have one. Cosmetic surgery is becoming as popular among us mere mortals as the rich and famous.

The stresses and strains of modern life can really take their toll on your skin and having a facelift is a great way to breathe new life into your dull and tired complexion – whether you’re a former Wimbledon champion or not.

A group of three plastic surgeons recently put all their years of training to the test when they operated on the 12-foot giant squid, giving it a “Squid-o-plasty” so to speak.

Plastic surgeons are constantly testing the borders of their profession and trying to raise the bar just a little bit. This means that they will constantly try out new procedures, no matter what they are, in order to make sure that they are on top of their game. In one of the most bizarre procedures to have been performed by trained cosmetic surgeons, the procedure performed on the Pacific Giant Squid most definitely requires attention.

In order to become a successful plastic surgeon, one must undergo years of rigorous training to ensure that nothing goes wrong during surgery. A group of three plastic surgeons recently put all their years of training to the test when they operated on the 12-foot giant squid, giving it a “Squid-o-plasty” so to speak. This plastic surgery procedure went a long way towards the understanding of this magnificent creature.

The 12-foot Giant Squid that these surgeons operated on had a number of battle wounds that were acquired during its life. The squid also had its head severed, which had to be reattached. On the 28th of May, this team of professionals gathered around a stainless steel table in Charleston, Oregon to operate on the gelatinous body of the squid.

This interesting and unusual plastic surgery was an attempt by the OIMB or the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology to create an attraction for the up and coming Charleston Marine Life Center. This Charleston Marine Life Center is a museum cum aquarium that will cover 6000 square feet and the center of attention at the Center will be this giant squid, preserved in formalin.

The whole plan to perform this operation was orchestrated by Craig Young, who is the director of the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology and he ensured that only the best doctors were appointed for this momentous task. The surgery was performed by Dr. Ernie Manders along with his colleagues Dr. Galen Wachtman and Dr. Christine Fisher. All three doctors come from the highly reputed University of Pittsburgh, where they are professors.

Dr. Manders’ association with the OIMB started with his research on the unique ability of some marine creatures to regenerate limbs. Possibly the most notable of these are sea stars, which can grow any limb that has been cut off. Manders believes that this research of can lead to some incredible medical advancements, which includes instant conductivity for nerves after a transplant. According to Dr. Manders, the nerve physiology of these creatures is the same as that of a human being.

Therefore, Dr. Manders was the perfect choice for the squid procedure. The task at hand was to repair the gashes that were sustained when fishermen caught the creature. According to Young, “It occurred to me we might be able to get some free service out of him (Dr. Manders) as a plastic surgeon,”

The whole procedure of reconstruction of the squid took under two hours and the end result was that the 12-foot Pacific Giant Squid managed to regain its head and was finally fitted together like pieces of a puzzle.
