When to Consider Breast Reduction Surgery

While breast implants are the most common breast surgery people think of, there are actually a significant number of breast reductions performed every day. Many women find that they develop significant problems over time from having large breasts. Many of these problems can be eliminated by having a simple breast reduction procedure.
Excessively large breasts can cause a number of problems, the most common being back pain. When breasts are disproportionately larger than the rest of the body, supporting them places significant strain on the spine. This weight can quickly begin to cause problems, and these problems become more significant as a woman ages. Excessively large breasts can even cause breathing problems in some cases. In cases such as these, when significant medical results have occurred, some insurance companies will cover the cost of the surgery, which is typically considered a cosmetic procedure.
Breast reduction surgery is also relatively common in people who have uneven breasts. Most doctors agree that it is much simpler to even out breast sizes by removing tissue than by inserting implants. The procedure is simpler and has more predictable results.
Breast reduction surgery is relatively straightforward. The procedure involves making incisions around the nipple and along the creases of the breast, after which excess fat, tissue, and skin are removed. After this, the nipple is placed in a higher position on the breast while still connected to all of the nerves so that sensation is not lost.
Breast reduction surgery, like any surgery, is not without risks. Talk to a medical professional to determine if the benefits outweigh potential risks and make you a good candidate for the breast reduction procedure. It can make your life much easier, reducing physical discomfort as well as emotional unease surrounding your breasts. For many women, this procedure can have a significant impact on many aspects of life and the quality of life that is experienced.

I had a breast augmentation last Summer. I was terrified before hand so I spent months researching the process and looking into reputable clinics. I had heard all the usual horror stories and I’ve never been a fan of needles, operations or hospitals so this was not a decision I took lightly.
My breasts were a 38F and I’m 5′ 4″ so I was experiencing various physical problems due to the weight of my boobs pulling on my back and neck. Apart from the physical pain, I was suffering from really low self esteem because I hated the way I looked. I appeared fat and I tried to cover my breasts with baggy clothes that made me look frumpy. Having the op was definitely the best decision I ever made. I strongly recommend researching several surgeons first though. So many people jump in blindly and find out that they chose the wrong clinic the hard way.
I found my surgeon, http://www.stephenmcculley.co.uk/index.html through The Park Hospital in Nottingham and I cannot fault the care I got from start to finish. My life has changed completely and it was well worth all the time, effort and nerves. I’m now a 36C and I love my breasts. I never thought I’d say that but I do!
